Dutch city centres as a source of inspiration
With this election, Platform Binnenstadsmanagement puts inspiring and leading city centers in the spotlight. By sharing examples of developments and collaborations, cities can learn from each other's success stories. We do this to keep city centers future-proof and vital. In 2023, the projects of Hengelo (Marktplein) and Veenendaal (Stadsstrand) received the award. This year, three themes are central, within which the entries can be submitted: Activity & Building, Sustainable & Digital and Own & Unique. All city centers are invited to participate in the 2024 election.
The election period
Registration for the election is possible until 21 January 2024. A ll registrations will be expertly assessed by a jury consisting of experts from the business community, education and trade associations. In March, the representatives of the participating cities will enter into discussions with the jury via speed dates, after which two finalists per theme will be determined. The winners will be announced and the prizes awarded during the Day for the Inner City in April. More information about participation and the election process can be found on the website .
